Well, It’s that time of the year again – when you grab a skate while you can. Melbourne sure likes it’s rain which means less days to choose from. Ah well, at least there’s plenty of skate vids to watch while we wait for the sun to come out and dry those sloppy roads. Or you could just go on a bearing-hate binge like this guy. I don’t remember ever seeing a video shot entirely in bad weather.

I snapped some sweet shots of Tony Hawk at Big Day Out in Melbourne on the weekend from my lowly vantage point behind some Police dudes. It looked pretty tough up there since it was 35°C but he was (figuratively and literally) SICK, saying on twitter:

Toughest demo I’ve done in years; flu + heat = dizzy. But Melbourne crowd was sweet.

I’ve seen Haroshi’s work around the internet the past few months. He uses layered and pixelated pieces from reclaimed skateboard decks for his sculptures. Rad. I especially like the guitar and really want to have a go on it to see what it sounds like. Check out more photos on his Facebook Page

Nick's Board

I’ve finally finished all the boards I needed done for Xmas. It’s always a good time to get out painting as it’s usually warm enough to do more than few coats on a board in one afternoon.

It’s nearly here now. All that’s left to do is finish up work and get on the road to see the fams!

Pinstripin' Madness

So I’ve been working on a few boards for the past month in preparation for Christmas. Some for my nieces and nephews and others are ones I’m selling. There’s also a few in the mix for the remainder of the Stubs designs I started back in October.

Here’s a bright pink one I made for my niece Imogen. Apparently pink is her favourite colour so, not having any, I had to go buy some pink spray paint especially.
